Wanted to show you one of our favorites from the batch of knives...

Wanted to show you one of our favorites from the batch of knives we just sent to @the_forge_dubai

This chef knife has a gorgeous piece of stabilized quilted maple on the handle (courtesy of @poldersowm- thank you!!) and we engraved the blade with the image of a dancing red crowned crane, also sometimes known as a Japanese crane.

These cranes are one of the rarest in the world and they are known throughout Asia as symbols of luck and long life. Because they mate for life, they are also known as symbols for love and fidelity.

One of the things that makes these cranes so unique and loved is their elaborate “dancing” with their partner which is believed to be a ritual that strengthens the pair’s bond.

Given the symbolism, we thought this would be a beautiful wedding gift or maybe just a thoughtful gesture for the hardworking cook in the family. Either way, we hope it finds a happy home with someone as we really loved making this one.
